Fossil

When you think of the brand "Fossil," I bet the first thing that comes to your mind is a "watch." If I recall, those watches were big in the late eighties...right? Well, little did I know that Fossil makes clothes that are really cute and mostly really affordable. Again, I have my stylish mother to thank for this find.

The blouse above is right on trend with the neck tie that is reversible! I love that because it gives you so much versatility. I also love the colors in it because it can go with many different kinds of pants or skirts.

The skirt pictured above is so adorable with the sweater and tights. I love this look because it is again very trendy, but comfortable. You can't beat an elastic waistband skirt with a comfy sweater, tights and flats.

The lace dress in the last picture would be a great buy for the holidays. I love the color and the length. This would be cute with black tights and wedge heel with some pearls. Classic!

All of the clothes above are only $78 and you can check them out and other cute clothes either at our Fossil store in Wolfchase or online at www.fossil.com

Kai

If any of you all are like me and love to put on good smelling lotion everyday and/or you are obsessed with perfumes, then you will love all of the Kai products. I found this brand at Apothetique in Germantown located across from J.Crew. If you have never been in this store, but love all beauty products, then you are missing out.

While I was in there the other day searching for Christmas gifts. I stumbled upon this line and took a whiff. I was blown away by how clean it smelled and that is stayed on me throughout the day. Kai can be bought as a lotion, oil, body mist, body butter, perfume and candles. It is definitely within the budget and I would highly recommend this brand for yourself or to buy as a Christmas gift.

Panacea

I have just recently discovered this brand of jewelry while perusing http://www.cusp.com/ and instantly loved each piece and their prices.

I am posting three pairs of earrings because these were my favorites!

The first pair are so unique and would look great with a cocktail dress. For only $24.00, these would be a great edition to your holiday attire.

The second pair remind me of Ippolita's famous tear drop earrings. These earrings are $48.00 and would be fun for the holidays as well. Panacea also has this pair in a dark blue stone as well.

The third pair are just so pretty to have to wear this Fall and Winter. These colors are beautiful together and would definitely make any outfit pop for only $58.00

Happy Shopping!!! :)

Tights! Tights!...and more Tights!

This post goes out to one of my girlfriends who had on the cutest pair of tights this past weekend. They were so adorable she had to have them and ended up paying too much for tights :) and was worried all night about snagging them. This is where I thought the recessionista fashionista needed to step in.

I found four great pairs of tights at Urban Outfitters for you all to start wearing soon. I am obsessed with theses styles and how they can really jazz up an ordinary outfit. Not to mention they are only $14.99 and or two for $20.00.

The first pair is an adorable leopard print. I think these would look cute with one of the wrap dresses from Banana Republic in my last post. It would definitely make the wrap dress more casual and fun for a night out on the town.

The second pair I thought would look pretty with a simple black or red dress for the holidays. There is so much going on in the tights, I would definitely wear something simple on top.

The third pair I am imagining with a mini skirt and some booties. They are a little more rock and roll, but a fun print to add to an ordinary outfit.

The third pair are so pretty! I would again wear these to a holiday party. I am imagining a strapless dress and these tights with a pearl necklace. I don't know why, but these seem more classic to me so I am drawn to again keep it simple, but add classy accessories.

The Versatile Wrap Dress

If you are always on the look out for the oh so versatile wrap dress like me :), Banana Republic has a great one in five different colors. I love wrap dresses because you can wear them to church, work or a luncheon and they transition well into a night function. This one is $98.00, but if you purchase one before 11/7 online at http://www.bananarepublic.com/, you can get 25% off. Whoo-hoo!

Holiday Dresses

With the Holidays just around the corner, most of you might be in the market for an inexpensive Holiday dress. You are in luck because I have found two for you at Old Navy. I have seen these dresses in person and they are pretty cute considering they are only $35.00!!! How cheap!

I think the first one would look so cute with black tights, black wedge booties and some gold accessories. The second dress is a bit dressier and would look great with some sparkly shoes and some bling accessories. Both of them are great jewel colors for the Holidays.

Reader Request: Scarves!!!!

I had another reader request to find a scarf that would be cute to accessorize with her wardrobe when the weather gets a bit cooler. Lucky for me, scarves are one of my favorite accessories. You can wear them all different ways and of course you can buy casual ones or dressy ones. If you check out this website, you can find out the 37 ways to tie a scarf (who knew!!!)

I have also posted three scarves that I think my reader would like. The first one is $58.00 and is from Anthropologie. I love all the great colors in this scarf. Like the first scarf, I think the second scarf from Ann Taylor would look great as a pashmina as well. This one is priced at $58.00 and if you buy it online at Ann Taylor, by tonight at midnight, it is an extra 40% off. The third scarf is priced at $59.50 and is from J.Crew. It also comes in a grey and black leopard print. I like this scarf for every day with jeans, a white tee and boots.

FUGGS!

I don't know if any of you have heard of this word, but "FUGGS" is referring to "Fake UGGS." Believe it or not, I have the mother of a little girl to thank for introducing me to this word. Her little girl was being bullied at school because she had on "FUGGS" not real UGGS. Well, this post is for that little girl and all of you out there who don't mind wearing fake anything.

I mean, I am sorry, these look just as good as the real thing and they are more than half the price. I bought these at Target for $39.99. I might have bought the last brown one at my Target, but I know they have lots of options online and they even have them in black which are really cute too.

These boots are going to look so cute with my skinny jeans and cords and poncho for a daytime look and then to bum around in my workout pants when the weather gets really cold. You can't beat a pair of comfortable, (inexpensive :))warm shoes!

Happy "FUGG" shopping! :)

Leather, Sweater and Corduroy Leggings

If you are searching for some great leggings to wear with your Fall sweaters, More Therapy in Chickasaw Oaks has some great options for you!

For under $50, you can have leather, sweater or corduroy leggings. The leather are really cute and great for those of you more daring with your wardrobe. The sweater ones are also really cute and would be great to wear when the weather gets really cold. I, personally, love the corduroy leggings and I would wear these all the time with my UGG boots and sweaters.

Leggings have to be the most comfortable articles of clothing ever and now they are available in all different styles at More Therapy!

J.Crew

While I was looking through the J. Crew catalog last night, I found the cutest crochet lace-front tee for only $59.50. What I love about this tee is that is is so versatile. First of all, it comes in five different colors (white, black, navy, grey and a blush pink) and I think it would look great with cords or dressy black pants. I am always on the hunt for great tees and I think this one would be a great buy!

Poncho vs. Cape

I got together with a couple of good girlfriends of mine the other night and we were talking about ponchos vs. capes. More specifically, what is the difference? After "googling" these two Fall trends, I found the answer. A poncho is a blanket-like garment with a hole cut in the center so that it can be slipped over the wearer's head. A cape is a short sleeveless garment that drapes over the shoulders and fastens at the neck, that may or may not have slits in the front to enable the wearer's arms to come through (think Little Red Riding Hood and her red cape :).

In the pictures above, I have posted a budget friendly poncho and cape. The cape in the first picture came from www.piperlime.com. It is $89.00 and comes in a grey plaid as well. The poncho is also $89.00 and is from Ann Taylor Loft. Both of these trends are great for the cold weather that is finally here!!!

Bangles!!!

Even if you are not into the 70's Bohemian look, these stackable bracelets Amrita Singh are great for your other looks because they can be worn in many different ways. If you look closely or go to http://www.cusp.com/ (one of my favorite websites for just "looking" since their stuff is a bit too expensive for me) you can see that there are many different styles in the stack including some bling! :) I would love to own this stack of bangles for $68.00 and wear them all together for a night on the town or take the bling out for a daytime outfit.

Run to T.J. Maxx

If you are looking for some cute leopard shoes like I was, run to T.J. Maxx. I was just at the one on Park and they had these adorable Kelsi Dagger shoes above for $40.00. I can't wait to wear my leopard loafers with black cigarette capris and a black turtleneck.

Basic Turtlenecks

If you are looking for basic turtlenecks to wear with your new Fall clothes, look no further than Old Navy. I was in the store yesterday and saw a couple of the colors, but if you go online there is a pretty blue color, black, white, caramel (this is their word for the color), grey and this pretty olive green color. Also, if you buy them online today, you can get them for up to 25% off (ONSECRET25 is the code). That makes them less than $14.00!!!!

Fall's Favorite Nail Polish

I don't know about you all, but Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons to put some color on my nails as my skin gets paler :)

The other day, I came across this new color that look fabulous on my nails. I think it is going to be my new go-to this season. Check out A-taupe the Space Needle by OPI and treat yourself to a manicure!

Kensie at Macys

I found this brand a couple of years ago and have been able to buy adorable at great prices. I have always enjoyed their Fall looks, especially their sweaters. Macys carries this line, but if you cannot find these items above or you are interested in seeing more of their line, you can go to http://www.kensie.com/

All of these items are $88.00!!!! The sweater is a great buy for anyone who likes to wear open cardigans. It will keep you warm as well as stylish with its fair aisle print. The military inspired tweed jacked is actually on sale (whoo-hoo!). The fabric is good looking in person and it has a flattering cut. I think this jacket could be a great staple to any one's closet for years to come. The maxi dress looks or so casual chic and oh so comfortable! I am all about a maxi dress and I love that lines are now making them with long sleeves for the Fall. I want to buy this dress and layer it with a tight fitting jacket and boots!

Nordstrom Open at Green Hills Mall in Nashville

I am so jealous! Nordstrom is one of my favorite department stores. Lucky for me, it is now within a 3-4 hour drive :)...road trip! if you don't feel like a road trip, you can shop online at Nordstrom because it is free shipping, free returns...all the time! Above are some of my favorite items from a line at Nordstrom called Halogen that happens to carry stylish, yet inexpensive clothing and accessories.

I love, love, love the belted cape sweater for $98.00. Capes are so in for the Fall, but I like that this cape has a belt so you can wear it and actually keep your shape. The pockets are adorable as well.

Halogen also carries accessories. The Chanel inspired classics above are only $99.95 and very neutral so they would go with just about anything. I am imagining them with a pleated black mid calf skirt and a black turtleneck (very Audrey Hepburn).

Last, but not least, I love these over sized square glasses. You cannot go wrong with any shape of over sized glasses this Fall. Priced at only $58.00, these are a steal!

Happy Nordstrom Shopping!!! :)

It's Football Time in Tennessee!

Football season is here and it is time to get your wardrobe in sync with your school colors. Since I went to UT and I am married to an Auburn fan, I am a true fan of the color orange. I am posting some key pieces that all you UT and Auburn fans out there need for those tailgating parties.

I have found that Anthropology is always going to have something orange to add to my football wardrobe. I love the first dressier orange blouse for $88.00. This is something you could wear to a night game and then definitely later with skinny cords and cute flats. I love love love the orange skinny cords for $88.00 as well. These would be cute to wear to a game and then to wear on Halloween with a black top (orange it sooo versatile!). The last, more casual top, is cotton so it would be cute to wear to a day game while it is still a bit hot. It is $88.00 as well and has some great lattice detailing on it.

Happy Gameday Shopping!!!! :)

New York and Company

I don't know if you have ever shopped at New York and Company, but it is a great inexpensive clothing store that always has great work wear for you career women out there. I received a coupon in the mail yesterday and decided to check out their new Fall stuff. I was pleasantly surprised with the pieces I found and how versatile they could be.

This first look is an adorable feather dress with pockets (love the pockets!!!). I love that this dress could go from day to nighttime and I think it looks great styled as is with boots and a pendant necklace.

The second look is a great looking snake print blouse. Snake print is so HUGE for the Fall. I like this blouse because it has the military pockets in the front and then also ties in the front to cinch in your waist. I would pair this top with some black pants and black wedges (think along the lines of the Target shoes I posted a while back...) for a dressier look and then skinny jeans and brown boots for a more casual look.

The third look is a great fringed hooded poncho. I love this piece because it is so versatile and great for those chilly nights that are hopefully in our future soon. :)

Just so you know...all of these looks are $50.00 (whoo-hoo!) and can be purchased online at www.nyandcompany.com or in the store located in Oak Court Mall.

Reader Request for Fall Boots

I had another reader request (whoo-hoo) and this time it was for Fall boots. After looking high and low for some good looking boots within my price range, I found some at Designer Shoe Warehouse. I am not sure if they have these exact boots in the store in Germantown, but the ones above are on the web site www.dsw.com ready for you to buy them . They are all under $100.00!!!

All of these riding boots would look great over skinny jeans or with a fun Fall dress or skirt.

Happy Shopping!!! :)

Athleta

Even if you don't exercise, it is totally "in" to look like you do :). Athletic clothing for everyday wear is totally acceptable in our society today. This is because they make athletic clothing much more fashionable than they used to.

I found some great buys at www.athleta.com . I would personally wear all three of these items together, but they all definitely come in different colors. The jacket is $64.00, the shirt is $39.00 and the pants are $69.00. Whoo-hoo!
