Wet n Wild

I can't remember the last time I purchased some Wet n Wild makeup...maybe the fifth grade when my girlfriends and I were obsessed with lip balms. Did you have all the lip smackers in every flavor they made?...I did of course! :)

While shopping at Walgreens for some quick necessities I needed, I stumbled upon these colored lip balms. I have always been a lip balm fan, but definitely feel like as I get older, I need a little color to my lips. I don't wear makeup everyday so I don't like to put on a heavy lipstick so I felt like these lip balms were a good buy for everyday wear. I bought one in "nutmeg"and "berry" for only a $1.99 each.

Sondra Roberts "Squared" Handbags

I didn't know I owned a Sondra Roberts handbag until the other day when I was viewing her "Squared" line or in other words...more affordable line of handbags :)

I bought the clutch at Ella back in the Winter when I needed a purse for usual holiday parties and such. It was only $65.00 and I thought a steal for how cute is was with the adorable bow. I know that this purse comes in other colors so if you are looking for something like this, Ella carries them or you can view the other colors online at http://www.sondraroberts.com/

The second purse I bought at Peria for 40 percent off (mine is black with gold accents)! She is having a great sale right now on all her purses and shoes. Even though this purse is probably not the greatest everyday purse, I loved it for the fact that it would be a great travel purse for those nights when you go out to eat and you don't really want your big heavy purse, but you need something less sophisticated than a fancy clutch. This tote was the perfect in between.

Kohls

It has been a long time since I have stepped foot in a Kohls department store. When I did the other day, I was pleasantly surprised...especially with Lauren Conrads' line. I have always been a fan of her fashion sense and I will admit that I watched all of her reality shows on MTV religiously :)

While I was shopping at Kohls, (there are two in the Memphis-Cordova and Collierville) I stumbled upon some really cute things. I really liked this grey and white striped dress above. I thought this would be a great throw on for those days when you want something cute, but relaxing and cool to wear. This would be my go to dress for sure, especially if I was traveling.

Please go and check out her line at http://www.kohls.com/. I found some really cute floral shirts that would look cute with colored skinny jeans and some even dressier tops that could be worn out on the town or even to work. Her line is definitely girly, but great for items that you can dress up or dress down.

Cute CABI Clothes

I have been buying clothes at CABI (Carol Anderson By Invitation) shows for about two years now and I have yet to be disappointed. The price point is great and the clothes are comfortable, yet very fashionable. This year, I have already picked out my favorites under $100.00. Even better, if you pick out what you want and buy it the first weekend in August, you will get it tax free in Tennessee. Whoo-hoo! Go to http://www.cabionline.com/ to view the complete Fall 2011 line and call Judy Beard at 901-767-6023 for more information about how to view the clothes (tell her the memphis recessionista fashionista sent you)

Diamonds and Pearls...Real or Fake?

If you are anything like me, you love diamonds and pearls. Even though I would love to buy all the diamonds and pearls in the world and wear them everyday, in reality, I cannot. So...I shop at Banana Republic. I have always received compliments whenever I wear a piece of costume jewelry from their classic jewelry boutique and honestly, who has to know what is real and what is fake?

Above I have featured some of my favorites that I think would be a great addition to any ones wardrobe for fancy functions. The earrings are cubic zirconia vintage earrings priced at only $29.50. These could be worn to a dressy event or everyday with jeans and a t-shirt.

The double strand pearl necklace is a must have for only $59.50. I am imagining it dressed up with a shift dress to a brunch or dressed up for a night on the town with a fun lace top and jeans.

The third piece of jewelry priced at $39.50 has the most beautiful clasp. I am always drawn to jewelry that has something unique about it. Pair this with some other gold bangles and you are set!

J.Crew

J. Crew has definitely undergone some changes in the past year, but I have to admit that I love how different it has become. I love their modern twist on prints and how their basics have become a bit alternative.

While I was shopping the other day, I stopped in and immediately noticed the necklace above. I think this would be another great addition to your transitional fall wardrobe. This can be cute with a casual dress or jeans (your new colored jeans?) and a t-shirt. Who can beat the $29.50 price tag?

Even though I do shop in our store, sometimes they do not carry all the cute stuff online so I make sure I always check out the website every now and then. Surfing their site, I found this adorable skirt for $88.00 that would be great to dress up for church or Sunday brunch or dressed down with a white pocket tee for running errands...how adorable would it look with the necklace?

The Color Red...and Animal Print?

It seems as though red is going to be a big color for the Fall. I have been coveting this jacket from Anthropologie for a while now. Since it is only $98.00, I have decided to put in on the blog. I think this blazer would look good over a maxi dress or for a dressier look, over a black top with black pencil capris....and maybe these shoes below?

These shoes are from Piperlime and are priced at $89.00. You might want to invest in a pair of animal print shoes too because they seem to be everywhere in the magazines and online for the Fall. Lucky for me, I love to accessorize with animal print :)

Chambray

I just love the name of this fabric. Did you know that Webster's meaning of chambray is "a linen-finished gingham cloth with a white weft and a colored warp, producing a mottled appearance?" A very interesting and tongue twisting definition for sure. Regardless of what it means, it is extremely in style these days and you can find almost any article of clothing made with this fabric.

I, personally, have been shopping everywhere for a dress made out of chambray and low and behold while I was searching through my favorite websites last night...I found it! Old Navy has this dress above on their website for $34.94. The stores might not get this dress in stock for a week or so, but if you spend $50.00 or more, you can get free shipping.

Summer Sweaters

Don't ask me why, but lately I have been obssessed with finding the perfect Summer sweater. It might be because I travel out West in August and I actually wear sweaters at that time. Even though you all might be stuck in the Memphis heat for the rest of the summer, I have decided that these sweaters are great purchases to transitition into fall and then to bring back out in the Spring.

The first one is from Anthropologie. It is on sale now for $59.99. I actually think they showed this one in the catalog as a bathing suit cover up...how cute! I love buying pieces than can be worn many different ways.

The second one is from Victoria's Secret and it is $59.50. They are showing it online as a coverup, but I thought this one would be cute with jeans shorts and some strappy sandals.

The third one is from Macys and it is on sale for $54.99. Even if they might not have it at the store, I have figured out that you can order anything at the store and get free shipping as long as it is $50.00 or over...nothing makes me happier than free shipping :). I think this sweater would look adorable as is with white jeans.
