Poncho vs. Cape

I got together with a couple of good girlfriends of mine the other night and we were talking about ponchos vs. capes. More specifically, what is the difference? After "googling" these two Fall trends, I found the answer. A poncho is a blanket-like garment with a hole cut in the center so that it can be slipped over the wearer's head. A cape is a short sleeveless garment that drapes over the shoulders and fastens at the neck, that may or may not have slits in the front to enable the wearer's arms to come through (think Little Red Riding Hood and her red cape :).

In the pictures above, I have posted a budget friendly poncho and cape. The cape in the first picture came from www.piperlime.com. It is $89.00 and comes in a grey plaid as well. The poncho is also $89.00 and is from Ann Taylor Loft. Both of these trends are great for the cold weather that is finally here!!!

Happy Shopping!!! :)
