Colored Skinny Jeans

Lately I have been obssessing over colored skinny jeans....red ones, in particular. I imagine rolling them up a bit and wearing them with a casual white pocket tee and flats or with dressy nude pumps and an adorable floral top. I have searched the town high and low. I even went out to the J.C. Penney's at Wolfchase to look for colored jeans. I eventually found some that hit my price point. Thank goodness for Urban Outfitters! These jeans are priced at $58.00 and come in red and pink and even an adorable geometric print.

Little White Dress at Target

Everyone knows that you can't go shopping at Target without spending at least $50. If you are anything like me, you always walk away with at least one item for yourself. When CALYPSO-St. Barth came to Target, I unfortunately must have passed by this cute dress or maybe our stores didn't get it. Girl on a Budget

What more can I say? This phrase says it all: "Girl on a Budget." This would be my favorite place to shop on http://www.piperlime.com/. I can always find a cute top, great jewelry and adorable shoes. The best part about Piperlime is free shipping and free returns. Whoo-hoo!

While I was on there today, I found myself some cute things that I can wear now and into the Fall. The first picture is called the mini tribal print dress and is only $69.00. This could be cute for a date night or even a "snappy casual" party.


The second picture is a lace top that is oh so stylish right now and is priced at $74.00. I love how flattering the neckline is and then how cute the scalloped edges at the bottom are. How cute with this top look with some colored jeans and nude pumps?


The third picture is of a pendant necklace that I have been trying to find all Summer. I love how it looks like an antique locket. I would totally wear this with a maxi skirt or a maxi dress. This necklace is priced at $28.00. What a steal!

Lela Rose for Ann Taylor Loft

I get so excited when designers join forces with a store and create a couple of items that people like me can afford. I did my homework and realized that none of the stores in Memphis are getting any of the Lela Rose dresses in, but you can order them online. These two dresses would be a little over $100 with shipping each, but in my opinion, that is much cheaper than an original Lela Rose dress. I loved the first dress right off the bat because I am always drawn to patterns and thought this would be a great dress to wear to a luncheon, shower or even a day wedding. The second dress is a great buy as well and would look great with a blazer and fun earrings to wear to work and then take the blazer off for cocktails or dinner that night.

Flip-Flop Time

You can't get through Summer without a pair of flip-flops and why not buy a pair that is oh so popular with the celebrities. Not only are Havaianas stylish, but they are comfortable and pretty in-expensive for a pair of shoes that will last a long time. I had trouble fitting into the flat flip-flops because my foot was a bit too narrow, but then I discovered their new "high" slim flip-flops that are an inch of the ground. You can't beat a casual shoe that makes your legs look longer. Pictured to the left is the pair that I bought (sand grey/light golden) and have been wearing every day since. I bought mine at a store at the beach, but I have spotted them on the Havaianas web site and they are priced at $34.00.

Skirts, Skirts and More Skirts

What better way to stay cool in these hot Summer months than with a skirt. Living in Memphis, I am not sure anybody experiences the level of humidty that we have to endure until at least the end of September...well, maybe Texas. Therefore, during these months, we tend to put on clothing that is easy to wear and allows for our skin to breathe. I love skirts and I am always on the hunt for one that is casual and easy to just throw on for those days when I know at least my clothes will look cute while my make-up is running down my face and my hair has succumed to the heat in the form of frizz.

The first skirt is the oh so in style "maxi" skirt. I love maxi skirts and even though you might think that they are too hot this weather, you can find one made of cotton that will keep you cool and you can even wear it into Fall to really get your money's worth. I have been pining over this one from http://www.lulus.com/. This skirt is on sale (whoo hoo) for $32.00 and would look adorable with a belt and some strappy sandals.

The second skirt is from Old Navy and it was only $29.94. It reminded me of an Ella Moss dress that I used to own and I really liked the colors that it came in. I own the orange and white wide striped one that I think is actually sold out online, but you might be able to find it at one of the Old Navy stores in town (I frequent all three!!!)

The third skirt is another Old Navy (can you tell that I am obsessed with this store? :) skirt that I have certainly gotten my money's worth from. I have this skirt in white and love to wear it with a white tank and turqouise jewelry. This one is now on sale at Old Navy for only $25.99 and it looks like it is really hard to find online, but again, I have had lots of luck in the stores.
